The inauguration of Barack Obama and his move to the White House is set to be one of the biggest political spectacles the US has seen in years.

Livestation's partner channels, have lined up special coverage of inauguration day on Tuesday 20 January, and Livestation viewers can flick between channels in the desktop player to sample the different coverage being offered. C-SPAN will cover all major 2009 inaugural events, beginning Saturday through Tuesday’s inauguration. Coverage on Tuesday starts at 06:00 ET (11.00 GMT) with a special “Washington Journal” and continues each day until midnight ET (05.00 GMT, 21 January).

Euronews will be watching events unfold and examining the Obama presidency from a European perspective, assessing how the relationship between the US and Europe is likely to play out. Euronews says its coverage will start at 11.00 ET (16.00 GMT) and run until 13.00 ET (18.00 GMT). There will be coverage of the parade from 15.00 ET (20.00 GMT) on the No Comment Live programme. The channel will dip in and out of the story to cover events after 15.00 ET (20.00 GMT), but on a more sporadic basis.

France 24 will have special programmes on the three channels French, English and Arabic; all carried on Livestation. The programmes will run from 10:00 to 17:00 ET (15.00 - 22.00 GT) . In the Paris studios will be political scientists, experts, correspondents and representatives of the American political parties, all analysing the historical event. In Washington, France 24 International Affairs specialists will comment throughout the day live from the France 24 studios overlooking the Capitol. The special edition will be complemented by analysis from France 24 correspondents from across the world including Jerusalem, Beijing, London and Berlin.

Russia Today and Rusiya al-Yaum will be taking a look at the issues facing the Obama presidency and looking a back at the Bush legacy and how that may impact the future. They will have studio guests offering analysis from a Russian and global perspective.
