Release notes

The Livestation player is a free downloadable application that you can install on your computer to receive a range of live radio and television broadcasts over a wired or wireless broadband connection.

This is a pre-release version of the Livestation player which may not include all the final features and may have faults or flaws. Please only install and use this version of the Livestation player if you are comfortable using pre-release software.

Your attention is drawn to the terms and conditions of the End User Licence Agreement and Privacy Policy.

The beta version of Livestation will initially provide television and radio services from a limited number of international news broadcasters for testing purposes. Additional channels will be available in the future.

This initial release is currently only available for Microsoft Windows personal computers. Versions for Apple Max OS X and other platforms are in development.

The current minimum system requirements are Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista with Internet Explorer 6 or later.

A fast computer and broadband network are required, ideally a 2GHz processor and an internet connection of at least 640Kbps.

Livestation uses a system known as a hybrid peer network to enable you to receive some or all of a stream from the network of other Livestation users. While you are viewing or listening to a channel a proportion of the stream may be shared with other users of Livestation.

Video consumes a significant amount of network capacity over time. Using Livestation may transfer more than 200MB per hour. This could quickly exceed the limits on usage set by some broadband service providers. You should ensure that your network provider or administrator is able to support this level of sustained usage.

Livestation is not responsible for any network access or data transfer charges that you may incur through the use of this service.

Livestation delivers live television and radio broadcast programme services. Reception of these services may require a television or radio licence in some countries. You should ensure that your use of Livestation is covered by such a licence where required.
