Live chat on Livestation as Riz Khan meets Jimmy Carter
Posted on 28 January 2009 by Kate Lothian
The former US President Jimmy Carter will be live on Al Jazeera English tonight (20:30 GMT) for an interview with Riz Khan, which is being streamed live on Livestation, with viewers able to chat live and put their questions as they watch.

The former president will be talking about his latest book entitled We Can Have Peace in the Holy Land: A Plan That Will Work, as he and Riz Khan discuss the current situation in the Middle East, including the recent conflict in Gaza.
In 1978, Carter helped push the Camp David Accords, which led to a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.
Since leaving the White House in 1981, Carter has remained active in international affairs as a free agent for diplomacy and has been criticised by some for meddling in the foreign policy agendas of U.S. administrations.
He has met twice with leaders of Hamas and staunchly believes they must be included in the official dialogue toward a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians.

Viewers watching the interview on Livestation will, as always, be able to chat as the interview goes out live, and producers from the Riz Khan show will be in the chat room selecting comments for use on air.
On tonight’s show there will also be a poll using Livestation’s instant polling tool, Live Panel.
Viewers watching the interview on Livestation will see a popup on their computer screens posing a question. They will be given a set time to vote, probably about two minutes, after which the result of the poll will pop up on the computer screen.
The question being put to the Livestation audience tonight is, “Is a two state solution for Israelis and Palestinians still possible?”
There will be two answers to choose from:
- Yes a two state solution is possible
- No a two state solution not possible
So log on to Livestation at 20:30 tonight for the Riz Khan show and put your questions to former US President, Jimmy Carter, and cast your vote in tonight’s Live Panel poll.
