Music of Resistance - live chat
Posted on 07 March 2009 by David Brewer

Steven Savale, the presenter of Music of Resistance and the founder of Asian Dub Foundation, is taking part in a live chat on Al Jazeera’s Livestation channel on Monday, 9 March at 13:00GMT.
This will be immediately after the first airing of the last episode of Music of Resistance on Al Jazeera English.
The following is taken from the Al Jazeera The Music of Resistance page.
“The Music of Resistance tells the stories of musicians who fight repression and sing about injustice.
Presenter Steve Chandra Savale, a renowned guitarist, grass roots campaigner and the driving force behind Asian Dub Foundation, a London-based group that has for years brought a strong anti-racism message to an international audience, meets unique musical personalities from some of the world’s most troubled areas – Nigeria, Mozambique, the favelas of Brazil, Cape Verde, the desert of the Southern Sahara and the East End of London.
These musicians are ambitious and talented but for them ‘making it’ is not about diamonds and sports cars – it is about radical political change.
The Music of Resistance illustrates their messages through live performances, interviews and images from the communities they sing about and inspire.
The Music of Resistance was produced, directed and written by Jason Breckenridge for Al Jazeera. Jason will be in the Al Jazeera Livestation chat room on Monday talking to guests.”
You need to download the Livestation player and log on in order to take part in the live chat.
