Gaza chat room comments live on air

The Riz Khan show tonight on Al Jazeera English (and streamed live, as usual, on Livestation) had the politicians Clare Short (UK) and Cynthia McKinney (US) as guests, discussing the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Hundreds were chatting in real time as they watched the live programme on Livestation, and that discussion was reflected on air by Al Jazeera producers, who were present in the chat room and who were feeding the comments through to the studio and the graphics department.
During the half-hour discussion, eight comments from that chat room were displayed as graphics on the screen.
I was too slow to catch them all – the programme, which thrives on interactivity, was moving so fast with email comments, sms texts, phone in chats etc that it was hard to keep up – but below are a few.
Well done the Riz Khan show, and Al Jazeera English as a channel, for realising how important it is to engage with this growing broadband audience, an audience that not only wants to watch what the broadcaster has to say, but also wants to have a say in that output.
